PIR (Planned Independent Requirement)
English
PIR (Planned Independent Requirement)
A demand forecast entered by material, quantity and date before sales orders arrive, maintained in MD61. Its requirements type follows the planning strategy, so make-to-stock strategy 10 and strategy 40, planning with final assembly, treat it differently. Incoming sales orders consume it, avoiding forecast and orders being planned twice. It is how sales plans and forecasts enter MRP.
