FI Module Overview
FI (Financial Accounting) is the core SAP module responsible for financial accounting. It records financial transactions in real time and automatically generates financial statements such as the Balance Sheet (B/S) and Profit & Loss (P/L) statement.
FI integrates closely with CO (Controlling), MM (Materials Management), and SD (Sales & Distribution). Business transactions in those modules are automatically posted to FI. FI and CO are so closely linked that they are often referred to together as "FI/CO".
